RAAJAN SHARMA
FOUNDER & PRINCIPAL DESIGNER
Since his early years, Raajan has had a keen eye for visual detail. Growing up, he observed his older sisters practicing embroidery and assisted them in creating new patterns. This nurtured an innate talent for handicrafts, instilling in him an understanding of composition, proportion, and visual balance. Despite pursuing electrical engineering, his practical problem-solving skills and focus on functionality complemented his artistic sensibilities. As his interest in design grew, particularly in the realm of built design, he felt compelled to pursue a bachelor’s degree in interior design at the Vogue Institute of Art and Design. Having embarked on his professional career at True Dimension, he further honed his expertise at Retale Design Solutions, where he had the privilege of traveling across the country, witnessing the sourcing of diverse construction materials firsthand. This invaluable experience paved the way for his endeavors at Khosla Associates and eventually led him to co-found Draw Studio. Drawing from his accumulated experiences and insights, design visions turned into tangible realities, this progression culminated in the establishment of his own design practice – Merak Studio; rooted in the joy of creation, where every project is a narrative that resonates with the essence of its inhabitants, through a harmonious blend of functionality, emotion, and storytelling – a process manifested with soul, creativity and love. Beyond his professional pursuits, Raajan finds joy in traveling, indulging in culinary delights, and exploring various art forms. His passion for creativity permeates every aspect of his life.
