In the realm of gourmet sophistication, Labonel is a chic, high-end bakery passionately committed to the art of refined indulgence. Our vision was to incorporate their iconic blue-and-gold motif into the inaugural Bangalore establishment while ensuring seamless integration within the Prestige Trade Tower complex.

To set Labonel’s interiors apart from the mall’s cobblestone walkways, we employed wood flooring, subtly demarcating the space without creating a spatial barrier. A wooden frame encircles the service counter, creating a discreet boundary between the store and the common mall area, cleverly punctuated with slits to maintain a sense of connection.

The focal point is the counter itself—a pristine white monolith resting on a brushed brass base, a testament to Labonel’s dedication to cleanliness and precision. Additionally, fluted glass panels adorn the doors leading to the kitchen and storage area, as well as those behind the counter, offering glimpses of the greenery outside. This fosters an illusion of openness while preserving a clear distinction between the kitchen and the café.

Subtly disrupting the geometry, we’ve suspended an organic blown-glass lighting sculpture that graces the counter to redefine the spatial dynamics. To keep the products as the focus, the space is predominantly illuminated with recessed ceiling lighting. The addition of lampshades imparts a homely warmth, accentuated by brushed brass frames.

Notably, the brushed brass accents on the wooden tables’ legs establish a visual distinction between the flooring and furniture while forming a visual connection with the brass detail on the counter’s base. In a bid to infuse an outdoor essence, substantial grey planters near the entrance not only invite a glimpse of the outdoors but also diversify the design palette.

In our crowning touch, the window display comes to life with six marble monoliths, serving as elegant pedestals for the finely carved wooden cloches that proudly exhibit Labonel’s exquisite cakes. These cloches are softly illuminated by bespoke glass pendant lanterns, thoughtfully designed with brass cages to diffuse the light. A silk curtain, aside from adding an opulent flair, conceals the storeroom, offering convenience during display changes.

Our intentional use of subdued hues and meticulously repeated materials ensures that the cakes remain the central focus within the visual space, extending a gracious invitation to experience Labonel’s warm, luxurious, yet relaxed ambiance.
