THIRD WAVE COFFEE ROASTERS KORAMANGALA
Project details:
F&B | 1800 sq ft
Koramangala, Bangalore
Completed in 2017

In the thriving expansion of Third Wave Coffee Roasters across the country, this outlet was the beginning of their venture, offering us the prospect of giving life to the brand’s artisanal coffee ideology. The vision transpired through a warm ambiance, an amalgam of natural materials, and a palette of earthy tones, exemplified by the presence of varied wood furnishings and a Corten steel coffee counter painted in a brown hue that evoked the very essence of pure, wholesome coffee.

The art of coffee production, from inception to completion, finds expression in this exposed structure in a minimalist style. To accentuate the focus on single-origin coffee, we tastefully displayed coffee estate gunny bags and coffee beans in jars, both integrated with the coffee counter, inviting customers to connect with the origins of their brew. Adding another point of interest is a repurposed wooden table leg that serves as a bespoke food display unit dedicated to showcasing their delightful bakes.

In symphony with the design narrative, we detailed an intricate wiring pattern across the ceiling, while the lighting took the form of geometric sculptures housing exposed bulbs. Adding a touch of nostalgia, vintage sockets discreetly placed behind the coffee counter serve as functional accents. The exposed-structure concept extends to the signage, where the menu finds its place against the bare wall, and continues through a stretch of neutral IPS flooring.

Within the cafe’s bustling city setting, creating moments of greenery with potted plants offers a refreshing respite. The inclusion of a whimsical bookshelf, a treasure trove of souvenirs collected by the founders on their travels, and novelty coffee-brewing equipment breaks free from the conventional functional boundaries of the space. Lastly, making a bold statement through its artful juxtaposition, the graphic wall of tiled mosaic adds a touch of drama and character to the ambiance while maintaining its youthful and fresh appeal.
